In every country framed pictures of its leaders are placed in many different locations ranging from the homes of its people to government offices, corporations and public places. In most countries leaders are very powerful people and having a sense of presence of the leaders bring more than just mere luck in getting certain things done.
“Framing Leaders” is a website consisting of algorithmically generated framed pictures of Heads of Governments based on their length in power, latest Press Freedom Index (RSF) and Corruption Perceptions Index (TI) for the country. Leaders are all about borders, power, constrains which the algorithm translates to ornaments, proportions, matting and darkness.

Flags of the world as piecharts. Each sector of these piecharts is proportional to the area of the colour on the respective flag.
Using a list of countries generated by The World Factbook database, flags of countries fetched from Wikipedia are analysed by a custom made python script to calculate the proportions of colours on each of them. That is then translated on to a piechart using another python script. The proportions of colours on all unique flags are used to finally generate a piechart of proportions of colours for all the flags combined.

This is a web based tool to create favicons from scratch or from an image. Image files (.png, .jpg or .ico) can be opened and edited to generate favicons. Large images will be reduced and converted to 16 colors before making it editable on the enlarged 16 pixel by 16 pixel canvas. Other features include an actual size live preview, ability to move the image on the canvas, single color or randomized fills, multiple brush sizes and automatic derivation of color palates from uploaded images. Favicon Maker is written in python & javascript.

Pixel Maker lets you create you own pixel drawings with multiple colours and save them as a jpg or a svg. Currently there is a choice of six brush sizes and 21 colours to choose from. This has been tested and works on Firefox, Opera, Safari and IE 5.5+. With feedback I would like to develop this further.

Music from nature can be very unpredictable. It is soothing at times, and not so at other times. When observed deeply, an evolving mathematical pattern is evident. Generator creates an evolving algorithm that generates sounds and visuals. Sounds and still images of the space are captured continuously at regular intervals and stored in the system. The receptary of time stamped material is used to determine a historic memory of the space which forms an underlying ancestral layer. This combines with the most recent materials along with a real-time analysis of sound levels to compile the generated ambience. As nature evolves and produces ambience for its surrounding, Generator grows by surveilling its location and generates ambience for the space from the space.

mvblogosphere is an attempt to track, map and analyze the exponentially growing Maldivian blogosphere, in order to draw a larger portrait of the social, cultural, political and economic structures they represent. mvblogosphere is also a venue to explore more information about blogging and what other Maldivians are blogging about, which in turn will help to strengthen the quality and quantity of the overall blog content, and may even revive some dormant blogs.
