A series of aerial photographs illustrating the densely urbanised island city of Male’, the capital of Maldives. One of the photographs from this series was featured as the picture of the day on the front page of the English version of Wikipedia on July 26th 2006 and appears on Fragile Earth a publication by Harper Collins UK, showing the extraordinary effects of man and nature providing insights into our possible future world.

Graphic design, some photography and development of the website for Cyprea Group. This is part of a larger series of projects for Cyprea Group, which includes graphic designing of their corporate profile, designing and developing a series of print advertising campaigns.

Cyprea Group is one of the oldest and the most well established companies in the tourism industry of the Maldives.

An attempt to map photography and the dynamic relationships it forms with social, political and aesthetic systems.

A very large percentage of our brain is used for processing visual information; that makes humans highly visual beings. What we perceive from our senses, especially our sense of sight, transform into meaningful representations of the world around us. For a large part the saying “seeing is believing” goes a long way, as people readily accept the image they see whether it is through their own eyes or though a photograph. Photography enables us to “see” and thus “experience” a wide range of experiences through space and time without us having to physically be there. (link)

From a series of print adverts developed for a local apparel outlet. 500 photographs were shot of ordinary people and models to generate the final image.

Omadu International is one of the major established retailers in the Maldives catering the booming construction industry and the needs of infants and parents by means of specialized outlets.
